Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.
Amen.

Monday, November 8, 2010 at 4:35 pm CST, my Mother passed on peacefully. I was alone with her at her bedside when the final slide began at approximately 4:00 p.m. and one of my sister's was able to make it back in time before her heart stopped beating. We were on either side of her holding her hands and head, sobbing as were told her how much we, our siblings, grandsons and friends loved her so and that we would be o.k. and she would too now. It was a peaceful, comfortable passing and she was ready for it. She told my sister Sunday she wanted to die, "to fly away from all of this" and that she was ready to go. She expressed the hope that our Dad would recognize her as the brunette she once was. I smiled at that. She gave it the good fight as long as she could and just grew weary of it as we all eventually do.
She died in St. Mary's Hospital, Streator - the hospital she was born in, gave birth to five children in, and worked 15 years in after my father passed in 1989. The "circle" has now come around.
