OK OK! Uncle! I give!
Yep, finished LSU. (GEAUX TIGAHZ!) Dan and I got married in Turks and Caicos shortly thereafter, just after his mom passed away from an ugly battle with cancer. We moved to AR for a bit-- Dan was an M.E. at Riceland (of all places-- heck, half of you know him better than you know me now) while I was doing the broker/series 7/controller thing at Personalized Financial Planning in LR and getting my MBA. I then went to ALLTEL for a bit, Dan got his MBA while he was at International Paper. (NO, it's NOT the smell of money. THAT, my friends, is a line of BS. But IP's a good company, despite the aroma.) I then had an opportunity that relo'd us to Charlotte NC-- later I met someone on a plane and ended up taking a spot at Microsoft for the past few years, and since we've been here, Dan's now been at Lowe's Corporate for about 2 years now.
Enough about work. No kids. One completely *worthless* rescued Aust Cattle Dog that we love despite the furballs she constantly sheds in the house. What can I say, she's my girl. We've been fortunate to do a lot of traveling-- Turks & Caicos (aforementioned nuptials which may or may not be legally binding btw but we're aok with that), St Lucia, Hong Kong, Germany, Austria, France, Bahamas, and this past fall was Barcelona, Spain. I'm in Boston about once a month, it's nice to get to see both my and Dan's family that are up there, but yet still not have to live there and deal with the snow and all that jazz. Yech.
We spend a lot of time on the lake--- wakesurfing mostly. We both do yoga fairly regularly, and Dan just ran the Boston Marathon a couple weeks ago (April 2008-- Oy vey.). I still swim and we manage to do a little rock climbing on rare occasion, but we're really just barely beginning to learn that---
Still active with LSU alumni-- both of us are on the board here. www.lsucarolina.com.
Yes, we've been to a NASCAR race. ONE. It was fun enough, but I prefer to head the opposite direction to the lake when the masses roll into town for that! We're about 4 miles from Lowe's Motor Speedway.
Anyone coming to Charlotte is more than welcome to pop by-- we'll toast a beverage out back by the firepit and Leeloo will give you a thorough sniffing.
Cheers all---
The random parties that would happen at people's duck camps I now look back on and think how very "animal house" we were--- they rocked! Any party with a bon fire is fine in my book.
