To this day I think about Mr. Napierkowski. He was my homeroom teacher and made an impact in my life. "Mr. Nap" was a kind-hearted man who spoke to us with respect and not down to us like we were children. I remember when there was a teacher's strike he asked us in homeroom how this made us feel. He was not asking in passing, he really cared about how the strike might effect our school satisfaction. Even though Mr. Nap was a Special Education teacher and he never taught me directly, he did teach me by example a little about the kind of person I wanted to be.
