 Martin, Yvonne "Vonnie" (Nedd) LAS VEGAS, Nev. Vonnie Nedd Martin passed away in Las Vegas on April 28, 2009 after a long illness. Vonnie was born in Troy, N.Y. and was the daughter of Emanuel and Gloria Wilson Nedd. She was educated in the Troy Public School System and graduated from Troy High School. She continued her post secondary education at Hudson Valley Community College and received a B.A. degree from SUNY Albany. She was formerly employed by Times Mirror for several years and more recently the Whitney Young Health Center prior to relocating to Las Vegas. While in Las Vegas, she continued her spiritual fellowship at Victory Baptist Church where the Reverend Dr. Robert E. Fowler Sr., is the pastor. Prior to relocating to Las Vegas, Vonnie was a member of Bethel Baptist Church, Troy, where she served in many capacities. She served on the Reverend Brewington Stinney Scholarship Ministry and the Gospelaire Choir and chaired several church events. She is survived by her loving husband, Allen Dwight Martin; her parents, Emanuel and Gloria Wilson Nedd; two brothers, Emanuel (Donna) Nedd and Dennis (Tammy) Nedd; one sister, Dorinda Nedd, all of Troy; five step children, LaMarr, Donya, Terrell, Steffon and Ericka Martin of Albany; one nephew, Justin Nedd; and one niece, Kristen Nedd of Troy; three godchildren, Kristen Nedd, Maya Stone and Raymond Johnson; and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, 2165 Fifth Avenue, Troy. Calling hours will be held at the church from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Interment, Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, N.Y.
