If you look at where we live, at the very bottom, there's one of us in Vietnam. That's me. I'm not going to make it to the reunion. I left the US in December 1999, moved to China, and married a lovely Australian. Right now we're getting her a visa so we can visit Daddy in North Carolina, target date September. You'll just have to hail Chamberlain without me this time.

The majority of our classmates who completed Survey #1 selected an indoor evening event on Saturday, October 23rd for our main get together. Additional small group activities such as formal dinners, kayaking and scuba diving are also being planned for Friday evening, Saturday morning, and Sunday morning. I will provide links to the online sign-up sheets via this message forum when they are ready to complete.

Also, we have only found about half of our class of ~800. Please let me know if you can help us find our missing classmates. I would be disappointed if I was not invited to our reunion. Would you be disappointed too?

REUNION TICKETS AND T-SHIRTS ARE NOW AVAILABLE!!!

Class of ’81 please purchase ASAP at https://www.chamberlainlegacy.com/chs81. Other classes have been asked to wait to purchase until after 7/23.

The Friday night warmup cash bar social event at Rick's on the River (www.ricksontheriver.com) has a capacity limitation of 160. The $15 covers the private area rental, designated bar tenders, and finger foods.

Because we had a headcount of over 200, the Saturday main reunion BYOB dinner was moved to the Moore Ranch, located in Lakeland near I-4 Exit 25/County Line Road. It is owned by a classmate’s family and the address will be provided 10/16. We are currently limiting capacity to 400 (we previously never had more than 180 at a reunion) due to the need to rent tables and chairs, and catering constraints. However, we may be able to accommodate more with enough advance notice (so please purchase your tickets ASAP). The $35 covers venue use, rental of tables and chairs, catered BBQ buffet dinner and a DJ.

If you have not purchased your tickets for the main event on Saturday 10/23, please do ASAP. Only 1/3 of those who previously RSVPed have purchased tickets making planning the event very difficult, and we may have to raise the ticket prices soon to ensure we breakeven. You can purchase the tickets via https://sites.google.com/view/chs81reunion/home.

Also, please consider inviting your favorite teacher or staff member to join us and buy a ticket for them! If you need help finding anyone please let me know.

We currently have 77 for Friday and 88 for Saturday.

Unfortunately, due to tickets not being purchased for 97 additional numeric responses to the survey question; "Including you, how many from your family (or other guests) will be attending the main reunion event the evening of 10/23?" we will need to increase ticket prices later today. If you have not already, you can purchase your tickets at https://sites.google.com/view/chs81reunion/home. You can also signup for water taxi rides for Friday, hotel room blocks, and extra reunion activities via this website. If you need financial assistance to be able to attend, please contact Donna Harris regarding a GoFundMe setup for this purpose.

Thanks all who have been contributing towards making our 40-year reunion successful. Special thanks to Audean Ross, Barbara Doyle Burruezo, Donna Harris, Ginger Futch, Greg Bowlus, Haydee Davidson, Lila Ceely, and Renee Garcia who have been regularly attending the posted webinar meetings and coordinating details behind-the-scenes via email. Special thanks again to all who were willing to financially risk contributing to the ~$10,000 upfront deposits required for the other venues we considered, as we would have each taken significant losses.

To keep this positive, if you accidentally responded with a non-zero numeric value to the survey question; "Including you, how many from your family (or other guests) will be attending the main reunion event the evening of 10/23?" (causing our venue dilemma), we still love you, but please help us by finding missing classmates to replace you in the headcount!!! I will try to post an updated list later today.
