It is with the greatest honor and also with the greatest sadness that I

stand before you this evening to offer this solemn toast.  I had the

great pleasure to count Greg among my very closest friends both in

school and also in band.  He always offered his utmost pride in every

group of which he was a member and in every task that he undertook.

Due to this, he was always faithful to his family, to his friends, to his band,

to his school, and most certainly to the Corp.  I remember well, how

happy and how supportive he was when I made drum major and I always

hoped that I was able to equal that support for him when he was selected

as drum major.  He was truly a mentor for so many to follow.  I would ask

at this time that all those present, along with all those listening from

elsewhere in the country, raise their glasses in honor and in memory and

to toast our dear friend and alumni Greg Gillette.  You will never be

forgotten.  May you rest in peace and may the Lord watch over you until

we are all together once again.
