Gloria Anne Lasley Epps, 57, of 420 E. Old Mill Road, Travelers Rest, went home to be with her Saviour, Jesus Christ, Tuesday, May 13, 2003, at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Langdale, Ala., she was the daughter of the late Shafford Charlie and Mildred Louise Gladney Lasley, and was predeceased by her brother James, of Langdale, Alabama.

Surviving are her husband, Kenneth D. Epps; son, Brent Epps; daughters, Kim Epps, Susan Epps Fortner, and her husband, Matt; grandchildren, Daniel, James, and Sarah Fortner; mother-in-law, Ruth Epps; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bucky and Dianne Epps, of Houston, Texas; niece, Bonnie Epps Vogt; nephew, Sean Epps; and great niece, Michaela Vogt.

Mrs. Epps was of the Baptist faith. She was active as a Boy Scout Leader, pianist, gardner, science teacher, and painter. She loved working on genealogy, and being a baseball mom. Gloria graduated from Valley High School, Valley, Ala. in 1964. Her dad, Shafford Lasley, owned the Lasley Pharmacy for many years in Lanett, Ala. She received her B.S. degree in Biology, from Bob Jones University, in 1969.

She worked at Liberty Life Insurance for several years.
