HURST, Beverly 78, was called home to be with her Lord on Oct. 23, 2014. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Gayle Gator Hurst; three sons and a daughter, Randy (Kristy), Sylvia (Bernie) Barton, Brian (Diane), and Dudley; eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Gerry Greene; and sister-in-law, Joy Hurst. She was an accomplished pianist at a very young age. While still a teenager, she was able to use her musical talents to begin many years of faithful service in her local church as organist. She had an earlier career in the banking industry prior to starting her family and working at her childrens school as librarian. She loved thrift-store shopping with her grandkids and watching them grow up. She was an avid reader and animal lover. She devoted her life to the Lord, her husband, her family, and many many friends. She will be missed greatly, but her family is rejoicing that she is celebrating in Heaven with her Lord and Savior. Gator, her husband, says she was a faithful wife and wonderful mother. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 28, at 12:30 pm, at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4207 E. Lake Avenue, Tampa. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
