Daryl Lee Gitchel was born on November 26, 1953 to Leo Dale Gitchel and Mary Elizabeth Stoneking in Keokuk, Iowa. 

Daryl received his GED from Northeastern Junior College in 2009.

He married Irene Lawson on April 1, 1982 in Denver, Colorado. 

Daryl worked in the Auto Body Industry.  He worked for J & L Auto for twenty-three years as an auto body man. 

Daryl loved animals.  He loved gardening which led to another hobby of his, canning all of his vegetables.  He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and was always finding ways to keep busy with his hands. 

Daryl was preceded in death by father, Leo Dale Gitchel, Sue Ann Harris and Bryon Christopher Harris. 

Daryl is survived by his wife, Irene Gitchel of Yuma, Colorado;  children, Michael Gitchel of Colorado; Angela Marriott and husband, Butch of Texas; Elizabeth Gitchel of Yuma, Colorado; Stepchildren, Herbert Lee Harris of Colorado; Kim Falconburg of Yuma, Colorado; Melody Harris, Illinois; Julie Clawson, Yuma, Colorado; one brother, Monty Gitchel; 26 grandchildren along with other relatives and friends.   

There will be a Private Celebration of Life in The Spring.
