I was so sorry to find out today about Bill's passing, which occurred in 1981.
I first met Bill at a record hop back in 1960 where he was performing.
He invited me to become a member of a three-piece instrumental trio that he was forming which would be called the Condes. Bill played guitar, Wes Dupree played drums and I played piano. We recorded a demo single called "Yo-Yo." Though we were not able to get it released, working with Bill and Wes was a very enjoyable experience to me.
Though it's belatedly, I extend my condolences today to his family and to all who knew him. He was very special to me.
