MCTS CLASS OF 1973 REUNION

April 10, 2009 

Dear Fellow MCTS 1973 Classmates,

Time has certainly flown by, and this year we have been out of high school for 36 years. Memories of those good old days at Marengo County Training School are soothing to the soul and uplifting to the spirit. Life-long memories, relationships and bonds were created during our high school days that will be cherished forever. Our experiences molded us and prepared us for the lives we now currently enjoy. It is not very difficult to remember dances in the Gym and at the Old Glovers School, Football and Basketball practices and games with dynamic Cheerleaders. Home economic classes and Prof Charlow’s shop; Mr. Alexander running away and leaving us all on a field trip that revealed a snake den. WOW!!! Mr. Cooke... Orations, remember those. These mutual experiences developed a special bond between classmates and all members of the Marengo County Training School Class of 1973.

The time is now to reunite and celebrate this unique class’s 36th Reunion.

 Please consider this letter an invitation to participate in the planning and organization of our reunion. We would like to schedule a full weekend of activities beginning on Friday, July 3rd, 4th and 5th, 2009.  The reunion cost will be $100 per classmate (additional fee of $25 per spouse). The final decision will be based on feedback received from class members. Therefore, it is imperative that we acquire a firm headcount as well as reunion fees by May 12, 2009.  Attached you will find your class registration form with completion instructions. We realize that this is somewhat of a short notice and have kept the cost at a minimum. The weekend will be splendid and well worth the cost.

You can find all sorts of fantastic facts about our years in school, Classmate profiles, and most importantly, pictures of then and now are there. This is your website so please access the site, join and update your profile. Send us your ideas and suggestions via the website. Please take the time to get involved; at last count, 5 classmates had already registered and we’ve just started!  It is our goal to contact all of our classmates and to ensure that everyone is informed of this great event. We hope that each of you will join in the planning and participation by sharing your suggestions via our class website. This website will NOT cost you anything as the web cost has been included in our reunion budget upfront. You want be bothered with any unwanted advertising but can use the site to advertise your own business. The sole purpose of the website is to assist in organizing the Reunion and serve as a contact point for all people associated with Marengo County Training School class of 1973.

Presently the committee has determined that the fees mentioned above will be used towards a Fish Fry on Friday, July 3, a Picnic and Banquet on Saturday, July 4^th and Church services on Sunday. Tee shirts and other memorabilia will incur an additional cost.
