20th Reunion

Posted by Reunion Committee after our 20th reunion....

Well, our 20th Reunion is over and we would like to thank all of you who participated not only in the planning, but also in the fun! We missed those of you who were unable to attend, but hope to see you at the 25th.  It was the first time some had ever attended a reunion and the overwhelming response has been that you were pleasantly surprised at what a great time and experience it was. One classmate wrote after the weekend events, "I was nervous about attending especially after being away for so long. You have no idea how I enjoyed rediscovering a well of friendship that I had overlooked for many years - twenty to be exact. I had wondered if the people I hung out with would remember me and by coincidence we came to dinner at the same time and our table had a blast." Another classmate wrote: “I had the best time, I can’t wait till the next one! I wish I would have attended others…!”

The dinner/dance at the Mount was a lot of fun. We ate, drank and (some) danced to hits from the 70-80’s in between trying to figure out who was who, or trying to get over how much some of our classmates hadn’t changed at all in 20 years! We gave out the following “honors”:

Least Changed: Susan Webb (Runners up: Rob Warthen, Steve Maze)
Most Changed: Cathy Welty (Runners up: Kevin Kneer, Tina Sanders)
Most Unchanged Personality: Nicole Joy and Steve “Sam” Maze
Newest Newlyweds: Rhonda Fox (3 Months!)
Married the longest: Pam Davis (to Joe Fraley, 20 years!)
Oldest Child: Karen Seltzer (19 year old daughter) (Also, Tina Sweeney and Pam Davis)
Most Children: Kevin Gardner (7!!)
Surprised to See at the Reunion: Billy Newcomber
Longest Military Service: Rule Kelbaugh
Most Likely to be on a Reality T.V. Show: Walter Zimmerman and Sam Maze
Travelled Farthest to the Reunion: Pat Ott and Jordon Hinke Ott from Marshfield, Wisconsin!

And we made some post-Reunion observations:

Least Recognizable: Karen Seltzer (yes, she was there!) and Kevin Albaugh (sorry Kevin – I would have said hello sooner had I know who you were!)

Class Grandmothers: Karen Seltzer –(How she can call herself that without a single gray hair or wrinkle, I’d love to know! Grandson Layne is 9 months old!) and Tina Sweeney (who apparently has two?!)

High School Sweethearts Still Going Strong: Pat and Jordon!!!

Classmate almost struck by lightning at the Reunion: Cindy Cool!

The picnic the next day started off wet, but turned into a lovely day. Our kids had a blast playing with one another and didn’t want to leave all the new friends they had made.  It was great to see all of the beautiful new families we’ve created. But amazingly enough, there were still quite a few eligible bachelors and bachelorettes on hand! Again, it was great fun and great to see all of you!
