I remember my first day at West Jr. High as a freshman coming in from Clinton and not knowing anyone in my class except a few others from Clinton. Jennifer was so kind and helpful in getting me to the right class rooms that day. She was the sweetest person who liked everyone and everyone loved her.
I also remember Jennifer as being one of the sweetest persons I have ever known. She did not deserve the life she ended up with, but guess we have no choice. She has to be someone's guardian angel, and is probably loving every minute of it.
You are all so right. Jenny was and always will be our Sweetheart. Jenny and I stayed in contact on a regular basis until she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. We shared a lot of tears and triumphs over the years and I think of her so often. About three months prior to our move to Florida, I went to Tiffin specifically to see her when she was in the (old Shawhan Hotel) Assisted Living facility. At that time, she begged me to go back to see her before we moved, but I didn't get back and I've always regretted it. It taught me a big lesson...no matter what we have going on in our own lives, we need to take time to reach out to a friend as we might never have that opportunity again.
Seems like yesterday that I drove Jennifer to the Homecoming in that blue Buick Skylark convertible with Terry. I'm sure she's in a better place and at peace.
Thank you, Chuck, for posting your comment about Jenny. It brough back so many memories. She truly was one of the kindest, sweetest, most caring and sensitive girl I've ever known.
Jenny was the best in the class - I agree with each of you and your memories. She was always such a sweet caring person and I don't believe I ever saw her in a bad mood nor say a bad thing about anyone. I think of her ofter especially when I run into Judy!
I, too, remember how kind and gentle Jenny was. She had a beautiful smile and even when she was confined to Elmwood at the Shawhan with Alzheimer's, she greeted me with open arms and a smile as broad as the sky. I don't know if she remembered who I was, but she displayed her love and kindness to me. Jenny was one of a kind and I feel so blessed to have had her as a friend and classmate. Rest in Peace 😇😘

Always a smile and kind word to everyone. She never asked for anything in return. Jennifer touched the hearts of those she came in contact with.Gloria Sanford (Whitman)
