Dave was a very good friend to me. He was the quarterback for our football team with my brother John under center. He went on to be a good quartevback at Otterbein College. I remember his Dad died at a young age also. His Dad was the football coach at Heidelberg in the late 50's and won at least one national title in their league.

Dave was a defensive halfback for Otterbein.  In one game, I remember watching him tackle Urshie Neal, one of the hard hitting ball carriers/blockers and in the Hall of Fame for Heidelberg College.  Charlie Dederick and my father thought that match-up was pretty funny.

Dave and I played football for a lot of years. We worked out in the summers with Butch , Ron and Stu . He also talked me into a Lima trip in summer of 62. I blew out 2 mufflers on my dads 57 Ford chasing his girlfriend. It took me three weeks of hard work to pay my dad back.Rest in Peace old friend. I think of you and Bob often. You both passed too early along with Denny and Terry. We all played football since the 7th grade.
