Where do I begin? LaDonna and I were inseparable for years. Our parents thought we were connnected at the hip. We went to senior prom with two friends and did pretty much everything together. I was driving before she was old enough so, I was usually at her house. We would smoke cigarettes in her bedroom and throw the butts out the window. In the spring, her mom cleaned the butts up in the yard and dumped them on her bedroom floor. Guess we weren't fooling anyone!!!!!
I remember the park dances, the dances at Skateland, the football games and track meets. It would take us at least an hour to do our hair and spray the dickens out of it. We really thought we were cute!
Oh how much fun we had when we were both old enough to go to Club 224. We would dig in the cushions of the chairs and couch to see if we could find the 50 cents or 1 dollar (can't remember how much)to pay the cover charge to get in the door. We were there every night the place was open, dancing our feet off. We shared an apartment together after we graduated and we thought we were the best. As all things go, we drifted apart after I married and she traveled with her husband.
So many times I think back and remember all the good times we had and secrets we shared, promising each other we would take the secrets to the grave. I miss those good times and miss such a great friend. I'll never forget LaDonna and our special friendship.
