*Last year the cost was $12.50 per person. We didn’t expect that many people and due to the generosity of several alumni, over $4,200.00 was donated last year in order to make it happen. I have tried to make this affordable for everyone who wishes to attend. The reunion doesn’t generate a profit for the Association. We rely on donations for operation expenses and funding of our special projects and scholarship funds.
If you are able to volunteer any time during the reunion (we need help for set up, clean up, registration, etc) please email me reunion@lakecountyalumni.com

Awards to be given at the Awards Dinner
Community Service Award – We will be honoring Mrs. Abigail Rice Hyde (RHS 1935). Mrs. Hyde is listed as the Lake County Historian with the State of Tennessee and always has been willing to share her knowledge with everyone in need of information for genealogy work or other research. She continues to be a valuable asset to our community and inspiration to many.
The Jerry Reese Lifetime Achievement Award– We will be honoring Mr.Joe Unger (LCHS 1967). Mr. Unger is an actor currently living in Los Angeles and has had an amazing career in movies and television spanning three decades. He has made television appearances on Alice, Cagney & Lacey, The A-Team along with many others. Joe can also be seen in Mask, Escape from New York, Road House and countless others. He perhaps is best known for his role as Sgt. Garcia in the 1984 horror film A Nightmare on Elm Street.
The Cora Hughes Outstanding Staff Award- We will be honoring former coach and principal of LCHS, Mr. Cliff Sturdivant. Mr. Sturdivant led the LCHS Falcons in one of the most successful winning streaks in LCHS history. He later became principal of LCHS where he continue to be a role model to many students and a respected member of the school system. Mr. Sturdivant now resides in Bruceton TN and is still working in the field of Education with the State of TN.
The Virginia Hayes Outstanding Faculty Award – We will be honoring Mrs.Marilyn Pearson (Retired MNES). Marilyn Pearson became a teacher quite by accident. Seeing the need for quality education, someone once asked her, “Do you think you could do better?” She knew she could and jumped in to take the challenge. She did make a difference and continues to do so. No matter how old they grow, those students are still “her kids” and all hold a special place in their heart for her kindness and devotion to them. Mrs. Marilyn’s late husband, Charles, was also a teacher in Lake County.
The Alumnus of the Year – We will be honoring Ms. Marla Watson Cilley (LCHS 1974) as Alumnus of the Year. Millions of people worldwide know Marla as “Flylady”. Her Flylady website www.flylady.net has a membership of 500,000 and is growing daily. Her book Sink Reflections remains a top seller and her second book, The Body Clutter was on The New York Times bestseller list. Yahoo has honored her for being one of its largest groups in history. She provides all of this free of charge to her Flybabies. Marla is the daughter of the late Peggy Watson Provow, a long-time teacher for Lake County Schools.
Just a final reminder, the deadline for payment is September 1st. Payment information may be found under the “All School Reunion” tab on all the alumni websites.
Last year we have 650 in attendance and expect more this year due to the Arts/Crafts Festival going on the same weekend. We will not be able to sell tickets at the door. You must have your payment receipt with you to be admitted into the Awards Dinner. If you “Swap Tickets”, please let us know in advance and the person will still have to have the original Payment Receipt.
