On August 19th, our beloved music teacher Don Berger (at ASIJ 1959-1993) passed away. We have much to thank Mr. Berger for his contributions to our class and to ASIJ! I recall fondly the musicals and plays he put together -- sometimes with the help of Bill Ricketson. He also directed the ASIJ concert band, choir. The productions that come to my mind are - "The Mikado," "Flower Drum Song," "Pirates of Penzance," "H.M.S. Pinafore," etc. etc. Didn't he also do "Once Upon A Mattress" after I left ASIJ? Please chime in with any memories you have of Don and his contributions!! He will be missed.
