Robin Johnston (Cockerill)

Robin E. (Johnston) Cockerill, of Murfreesboro, TN and formerly of Toledo, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 28, 2010, at the age of 42. Robin worked as a Paramedic/life flight Communication Supervisor for Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She was a member of Monclova Road Baptist Church and attended Creekmont General Baptist Church in Murfreesboro. Robin was a member of the National Association of Air Communication Specialists, Executive Administrator (N.A.A.C.S.), and Member of Air Medical Transport Association. She was a diehard advocate for air medical safety insuring that all crews came home safe at the end of the day. Robin also enjoyed theater and music, singing, taking care of her family and loved all things from the Wizard of Oz. Left to cherish Robin’s memory are loving husband of 15 years, John E. Cockerill, Jr.; sons, John Thomas (J.T.) and Christian Michael; parents, Richard and Vergie Johnston; sister, Renee (Douglas) Haas and their children, Lauryn, Gracyn and Eryn; sisters-in-law, Rosie (Pastor Richard) Skiver, Barbara Cox, Karen (Dan) Gill; brother-in-law, Henry (Diana) Cockerill along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by mother and father in law, John and Betty Cockerill, Sr.; brothers -in-law, Richard Cockerill, Thomas Cockerill and Donald Cox. Visitation will begin in the David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, 5300 N. Summit St., (419.726.1583) on Saturday, December 4, 2010, from 2-4pm and 6-8 pm. Funeral Services will begin at 1 pm in the funeral home on Sunday, December 5, 2010, with Pastor Dave Westmeyer officiating. Interment will be in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. A memorial service was held for Robin on Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at Benton Chapel on Vanderbilt University Campus which was facilitated by Vanderbilt Life Flight.
