40th Reunion News

Last Call!

Our 40th reunion is this weekend! If you are planning to come and haven't already registered, please let us know which events you plan to attend by filling out the form on the 40th Registration page. If you have questions, email Cindy Dick Hollingsworth. It will be fun! Come join us!

Here are the details about this weekend's events:

Saturday

Breakfast – 8 a.m.

Come to the Downtown Ramada Inn for breakfast at 8 a.m. Everyone is welcome! If you're staying at the hotel Friday evening, breakfast is complimentary. If not, the cost will be approximately $8.

High school tour – 10 a.m.

Walk the halls of Highland Park once again. Meet at the high school at 10 a.m. Following a tour of the building, stay for a short skit presented by the high school's theater group. Word has it, we'll get a glimpse into what they think their lives will be like 40 years after high school! The tour is free of charge, but we will be collecting a donation for the theater group

Small group tours – noon

We have arranged some small group tours of Topeka attractions from noon to 3 p.m. There are three options to choose from: the Combat Air Museum, the Brown v. BOE historical site, or the refurbished Capitol building. The cost of these tours is being donated by a classmate. All you need to do is choose which one of the tours you'd like to take.

The Main Event – 5:30 p.m.

Time for the main event! Come for dinner, conversation, music and more. The registration table will open at 5:30 p.m., we'll have a short program by a HPHS music group at 6:30 and dinner at approximately 7 p.m. The cost per person is $40 (now only payable by cash or check at the door). A cash bar will be available from 6-10 p.m.

Sunday

Picnic at the lake – 10 a.m.(meal at noon)

We have reserved Lake Shawnee Shelter House #3 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Please arrive for lunch by noon and if possible, bring a covered dish of your choice (preferably with food in it!). Table service and drinks will be provided. Alcohol is not allowed in the shelterhouse, but you are welcome to bring beer if you would like.

We share your history – come share a weekend of fun!

If you haven't yet signed up for the reunion, please consider joining us for some or all of our 40th reunion weekend's events! It's not too late to register! We had to give the caterer an expected number of guests for Saturday evening, but we can always increase the number!

Don't see your best friend coming? Don't remember that much about 1975? No problem! There's something special about taking time to visit with people who share your history, who know where you came from and who lived alongside you during that period in your life – regardless of how well you knew each other back then. Come and reconnect with some old friends and make some new ones!

Please take a look at the events on the 40th Registration page and sign up as soon as possible. You can see who is planning to attend the various events on the Classmates Profiles page

Hope to see you there!
