Welcome to the Topeka High School Message Forum.

  Welcome

Our class website was down from about October 2015 until early February 2016.  When it was reactivated, our former root admin was replaced by Jerry Germonprez and Cheryl Brooks White.

We will do our best to keep you informed of class happenings, and ask that you help us out by notifying us of anything pertaining to our class that should be posted on this site.

Jerry will post messages about upcoming events, such as our 70th birthday celebration in September.  Cheryl will add obits to the memory page.  You can help by letting us know if you change your e-mail address so we can reach you.

The following message is from our former admin, Alfred Williams.  It still applies:

I am quite proud of myself. On April 4th, 2023 I was elected to the Crete Public Board as a Trustee.I am the First transgebder elected to any office in Crete, Illinois. Crete is typically a stronghold for Republicans. I am, also, the first transgender person to be elected, to a post of Trustee to a Library in the history of the State of Illinois. This is no small fete. The Crete library is funded directly by Will County, which means the Township or Village has no control over ouir Library Board. This is good should there be any challanges to the books we keep on our shelves. I will be sworn in the third Wednesday in May. I am very proud to have been elected to this post.

Jackie G. McKethen ( formerly Jack G. McKethen ) Graduated THS 1964.

I hope this can be an inspiration to ALL LGBTQIA students that need to know they can go down a path of leadership.

On June 2nd, 2023 at 2:00am, my wife, Nora Scully Mckethen passed away. She was buried June 16th at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery to be with me when my time comes. Tha Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Willmington, Illinois, allows spouse of veterans to be buried in stacked graves on the reservation. It is a huge piece of land with such meticulous landscaping and headstone placement. My son and grandson were in awe, as was many who had never been there. Being alone is a very huge challenge for me, as I loved my wife vwery much.......Jackie McKethen

I hope to make it to the re-union in 2024. I have had a rough go of it since my wife, Nora, died June 2, 2023. I don't like being alone, and would like to make some reconnections. God willing, and the creeks don't rise, I hope to see everyone. Jackie McKethen
