Sharon Sanders' visitation will be at 11 AM tomorrow, Dec. 10, 2022, at Bowser Johnson Funeral Chapel, 723 SW 6th Avenue in Topeka.

Masks are recommended but not required.

Her homecoming Celebration will be at the same location at 1:00 PM.

Sharon Yvonne Jones, 76, passed away on December 1, 2022, in Derby, Kansas. She was born October 31, 1946, in Topeka Kansas, the daughter of William“Billy”Jones and Gladys Carter.
Sharon was a loving grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She was known by many as "Tootsie ".
Sharon was raised by both sets of her grandparents, Lonnie & Pearl Banks and Wedell & Grace Williams. Her balance in life was being surrounded by her cousins whom she always considered
her sisters; she spent weekends, holidays, and reunions with them and they stayed close all through her adult life. She also stayed close to her stepmother, Delores Booker Washington who always treated her as a daughter.
Sharon worked for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railways for 33 years,retiring in 2003. She later relocated from Topeka to Derby, KS to be closer to her grandchildren. Sharon enjoyed
shopping, eating, and traveling with her family.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; husband, Dave Williams of 39 years; and sister, Venice Jones-Poole.
Sharon is survived by her only daughter, Sherrie Hill (Garney); grandchildren; Brooke Jones, Bryce Hill, and Trey Hill; great-grandchildren; Avant Riley and Charleigh Jones;seven siblings,
Stephanie Carter, Stephen Patterson, Carla Gatewood, Anthony Pinkston,John (Twinkles) Pinkston, Gayla Noriega and Leslyn Petite.
She will be greatly missed by her loving family and always be remembered in their hearts.
Cremation will take place following services

Barbara Warren (Salyer)

I went to junior high and high school with Sharon.  She was an upbeat friend and I will miss her.
