Olive Branch, Mississippi - Ralph Arthur Reese, 66, passed away June 15, 2013. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, at Brantley Funeral Home in Olive Branch, and funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 21 at Temple Baptist Church, 8432 Germantown Road in Olive Branch. Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Bartlett, TN. Born and raised in Topeka, Kansas, Ralph began his 47 year Law Enforcement career with the Shawnee County Sheriff's Department in Topeka. After moving to the Memphis area, he served as a reserve deputy with the Shelby County Sheriff's Department, and he retired as a Captain with the Memphis Airport Authority Police Department after 26 years. Mr. Reese was a graduate of the FBI Academy's 198th session. Following his retirement, he continued his career at Northwest Mississippi Community College as a Police Officer, until his death. Mr. Reese was a proud U.S. Army veteran and was an active member of Temple Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Adam and Dorothy Reese. Ralph is survived by his wife of 43 years, Gwen Reese; two sons, Jason T. Reese of Olive Branch and Chris H. Reese (Channing) of Brighton, CO; two grandchildren, Sara McCall-Reese and Jacob Reese; and three siblings, Robert, Vivian, and JoAnne, all of Topeka. |
