Carol Ann Handshy, age 75, of Topeka, KS, passed away with her beloved family by her side on Wednesday, March 23, 2022.

She was born the daughter of Inocencio “Ivan” and Tomasa (Martin) Sapata on February 14, 1947, in Wichita, KS.

Carol married Mark Handshy on May 16, 2003, in Topeka, KS. Together, they shared 18 years of marriage.

She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. Carol enjoyed anything, “Betty Boop”, gambling, playing games with her family, especially playing, “The Marble Game.” Her faith and family brought her the greatest joy.

Survivors include her husband, Mark Handshy; son, Michael T. Ybarra (Phyllis Ruiz); two daughters, Kim Ybarra, and Michelle Boyer (David); five grandchildren, Madison, Allison, and Isabelle Boyer, Analeena Alvarado, and Joshua Ybarra; five step-grandchildren, Connor, Derrick, Zachary Hammerschmidt, Liam Smith, and Lila Lerner; one brother Joseph Sapata; four sisters, Sally Sapata, Cindy Boland, Debbie DeForest, and Lisa Sapata.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; and a granddaughter, Gabrielle Boyer.
