Paul E. Heston, 76, of Topeka passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka He was born in Topeka on May 27, 1947 the son of Carl O. and Margaret L. Failer Heston, Sr..  Paul grew up in the Highland Park area and graduated from Highland Park in 1965.   He worked at American Home Life, handling securities for clients.   He later worked at General Foods for over 20 years and then as a machinist at the BNSF Railroad for 13 years before retiring in 2011.   He enjoyed all kinds of music, country western was his favorite.   He loved kids.  He was always willing to give a helping hand and he spent lots of time working on projects and building this for his own kids’ homes.   

Survivors include his roommate Joyce Mathews of the home; his children, Jana Gay Heston of Lawrence, Kansas; Chad Edward Heston (Mardi) of Perry, Kansas, Erin Joy Small (Marc) of Topeka and Erica Dawn Heston (Frank) of Fremont, NE; his siblings, Mary Jo Hastings (Jim) of Topeka and Carol White (Bruce) of Meriden; the mother of his children, Darcy Jo Heston-Scheidt of Hot Springs, Arkansas; ten grandchildren, Bailey, Rachel, Emilie, Ashley, Trini, Hannah, Morgyn, Ryan, Tanner, and Scarlett; seven great grandchildren, Lorraina, Tristan, Jackson, Isaiah, Rylan, Laveil and Nallie.

He was preceded in death by three siblings, Carl O. Heston, Jr. Norma Davidson and Janet Usher.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm Sunday evening, October 8th at Davidson Funeral Home, 1035 N Kansas Ave, Topeka, KS 66608. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 9, 2023 at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Rochester Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Ks 66606.
