Danny Currie

Danny R. Currie, 54, Topeka, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2010, at Stormont Vail Hospital. He was born January 27, 1956, at Hutchinson, the son of John W. Currie Jr. and Beverly Ann Dorrell Currie. Danny grew up in Hutchinson and moved to Topeka in the early 70s. He attended Topeka High and served in the United States Army. Danny had worked for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad in Topeka. He had earlier worked for Capitol Electric. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, William Lee Currie. On December 10, 1988, he was united in marriage to Pamela Moore at St. Marys. She survives of the home. Other survivors include a son, Dylan Ray Currie of the home; two daughters, Shelby Ann and Tristen Marie Currie, both of the home; two brothers, John Wendell Currie, Lee's Summit, MO, and Thomas J. Currie, Topeka. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2010, at Piper Funeral Home in St. Marys. Interment will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Fairlawn Cemetery in Hutchinson. Mr. Currie will lie in state and the family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 31, 2010, from 6:30 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home in St. Marys.
