BERRYTON -- Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Funeral Home in Topeka for Roger Jon Hackler, 44, Berryton, who died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, shortly after arrival at a Topeka hospital. He had an apparent heart attack.

He was born Oct. 22, 1957, to Ronald J. and Freda C. Keller Hackler. He attended Potwin Elementary School and Roosevelt Junior High School and graduated from Topeka High School in 1975. He was a carpenter and worked for the city of Topeka at the North Topeka Wastewater Treatment Plant for 21 years.

He was a member of West Side Christian Church.

He married LaWanna Bergstrom on April 22, 1978. They were divorced.

Survivors include a companion, Linda Schramek, Berryton; a son, Jon Nell Hackler, Berryton; a daughter, Melissa Kay Hackler, Berryton; his stepfather and his mother, Bill and Freda Rickson, Topeka; and a brother, Steven Hackler, Missoula, Mont.
