Scott Strobel

Scott Strobel Scott Edward Strobel, 57, Topeka, was born on September 3, 1957 and died on March 23, 2015. Scott is the son of Kenneth and Marlys Schulz Strobel. He graduated from Topeka High School and earned a degree from the University of Kansas. In 1983, Scott and Karen Gardner were united in marriage, enjoying over 31 years together. Scott was the owner of Instant Signs until he was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2012. Scott had many passions including commercial fishing in Alaska, golfing, and KU sports, but his greatest of all was coaching his children, Carly, Ansley and Collin in their sports. Grateful for sharing his life are his wife, Karen Strobel; his children, Carly Hill, Ansley and Collin Strobel; grandchildren, Blaise and Amy Hill; his parents, Ken and Marlys Strobel; his sister, Resa Lemesany (Glen); mother-in-law, Dolores Gardner; brothers-in-law, Doug Gardner (Kathy) and Rick Gardner (Sheila); sisters-in-law, Ann Gardner (Leonard) and Kathy McKee (Jeff); and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. Thursday at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614, followed by Shared Remembrances at 5:15 p.m. Visitation follows until 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church, 2014 NW 46th Street, Topeka KS 66618. Burial will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Brain Tumor Association, sent in care of the funeral home.
