Michael David Watson, age 55, of Parkersburg, died Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls, from an apparent heart attack. He was born on March 15, 1957, the son of Randall J. and Bette I. (Barton) Watson in Topeka, Kansas. Mike graduated from Topeka High School in 1975 and later went on to continue his education in Broadcasting at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa for three years. Mike was united in marriage with Jenean Ida Franke on April 10, 2004, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gillespie, Illinois. He began his career at WIDW radio and later went on to work for WREN radio, both in Topeka, Kansas. He also worked for various other radio stations throughout the years, including Fort Dodge, Charles City and most recently Shawno, Wisconsin. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Randall Watson on October 6, 1981 Mike is survived by his wife, Jenean of Parkersburg, Iowa; one son, Scott Watson of La Grande, Iowa; his mother, Bette Watson of Topeka, Kansas; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Celebration of Life will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 27, 2012, at Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home in Parkersburg.
