I was very saddened by the news that Dale had passed. He and I were really close friends during school... Particular memories I have are of an 8th grade field trip and we got a little "tipsy" drinking goodness only knows what (remember that JOY? :0) When I got my drivers license he let me learn to drive a stick shift in his little toyota on the backroads of River Falls... he really trusted me... He was full of life and his singing voice was wonderful and he was always cheerful and dramatic and loved to gossip... and last but certainly not least when I didn't have a date to the Junior Prom he took me... I still have the corsage he gave me.
What is really sad is that we let ourselves drift apart and I never saw him again after we graduated. I will always be sad that I didn't see him again or know of his death to attend his funeral, but hopefully he knows how much I cared for him and how I felt about him.
Dale was one of my very best friends ever. He had a heart of gold. I'll always remember our fun times in high school and at North Greenville College. He was my encourager and best buddy. Everyone should have a "Dale" in their life. I would love to give him a hug and tell him how much I miss and love him. What a special guy he was!
