Obituary for Danny Craig "DK" Kennedy

Danny Craig “DK” Kennedy, age 49, a resident of Trinity, passed away, Wednesday, March 5, 2014.

He was born December 21, 1964 in Guilford County, NC, to Robie Earl Kennedy and Shirley Hicks Kennedy and had been a resident of the Trinity area all of his life. He worked for Davidson County as an Electrical Inspector for 12 years. Danny was a former member of Trinity Baptist Church and attended Southside Baptist Church in Thomasville. He enjoyed fishing, electrical work, doing sound work for praise bands, and the company of his faithful canine companions; Daisy and Chloe. Danny also enjoyed Scouting and was a former Scout leader for Troop 19. He was an avid Carolina Panthers Fan. He was preceded in death by his mother; Shirley Hicks Kennedy.

He is survived by his wife; Melaine Smith Kennedy of the home, his children; Ashley Megan Hunt of Trinity, Danny Craig Kennedy, Jr., and Dylan Michael Kennedy both of the home, his father; Robie Earl Kennedy of Archdale. Also surviving are his sisters; Robin Leonard and her husband Jeff of Chester, VA and Joni Kennedy of Thomasville, his brother; Tim Kennedy and his wife Debbie of Archdale, his grandchildren; Bethany and Grayson Hunt, and several nieces and nephews, he loved dearly.

A service to celebrate Danny’s life will be held Tuesday, March 11th at 2:00 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church in Thomasville, with Reverend Tommy Sizemore, Pastor Ken Evans, and Pastor Dan Alderman officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Cumby Family Funeral Service, Archdale.
