  MacDonald, Joan Elizabeth
TROY Joan Elizabeth MacDonald of Troy, age 76, passed away peacefully at home after a long illness on Tuesday, May 27, 2014. Beloved daughter of Robert and Rita Wheeler, wife and widow of Thomas James MacDonald Sr., life partner of Leonard Tenace, mother of six, grandmother of 14, great-grandmother of four, friend of so many. Joan is survived by sons and daughters, Thomas J. MacDonald Jr., Wendie Oringderff, Bob MacDonald, Todd MacDonald, Matthew MacDonald and Rita Zink. Devoutly loyal to and tenderly loved by, we who were blessed to know her laugh, wit, strength and love, and who will have and hold her in our hearts forever. She had a loving heart, brought a smile to all she met and welcomed all into her home, and especially gave so much of herself through the crafts she made for family, friends and those in need. Heaven has another angel and is now a brighter place. The funeral service for Joan will be held at 8:45 a.m. on Friday, May 30, 2014 from the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, 336 Third Street, Troy and at 9:30 a.m. from St. Anthony's Church, State Street, Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Mario Julian, O.F.M., pastor. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4 - 7 p.m. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.
