LATHAM -- Roger R. Bombard, 63, of Latham, died Friday at St. Peter's Hospital, after a long courageous illness. Born in Ausable Forks, NY, he had lived in Troy for many years and in Lathan since 1960. Mr. Bombard had been employed as a papermaker with Mohawk Paper Mill in Cohoes for over 30 years. He was Past President of Local 390, Papermakers Union. He was the longtime Chairperson of the Upstate Chapter of Myastenia Gravis Foundation. He was an avid camper and a communicant of St. Ambrose Church. Loving husband of 41 years to Helene (Yvonne) Bombard; beloved father of Brenda Riley of Clifton Park, Mrs. John (Tammy) Monette of Latham and Randall Bombard and his fiance, Doris Nieves of Round Lake; brother of Mary Dingley of Cohoes; stepbrother of Melody O'Brien of Latham; grandfather of Nickole and George Riley, Shaun and Melissa Monette, Nick Nieves and Emily Bombard. Funeral Tuesday morning at 8:15 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-South of Central Avenue), thence to St. Ambrose Church, Latham at 9 a.m. where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment Memory's Garden. Memorial contributions may be made to Myastenia Gravis Foundation, c/o Mrs. Pentak, Maple Avenue, Ext., Altamont, NY 12009, in memory of Mr. Bombard.
