CLIFTON PARK Joseph A. Derkowski, 70, of Clifton Park, died Sunday, November 9, 2008 at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Barbara Sue Plumadore Derkowski. Born in Albany, Joe was son of the late Joseph and Helen Maloney Derkowski. Joe was raised and educated in South Troy and had resided for the past 30 years in Clifton Park. Survivors in addition to his cherished wife, Barbara include his son, Michael J. (Tracy) Derkowski of Glenville; his daughter, Donna Marie (Fred) Cuva of Clifton Park; his grandsons, Stephen and Andrew Cuva; his brother, William (Paula) Derkowski of Fla.; his sister, Elaine (K. Arthur) Wirgau of N.C.; his sister-in-law, Linda Derkowski; many nieces, nephews; cousins; aunts and uncles. Joe was predeceased by his son, Lcp. Stephen J. Derkowski and brother, Thomas Derkowski. Funeral service will be at 9 a.m., Thursday, November 13 at St. Mary's Church (Crescent), where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Family and friends are invited and may call at the Bowen Funeral Home, 97 Old Loudon Road, Latham on Wednesday 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Waterford.
