LLOYD A. FRERER, THS '55

 

Lloyd A. Frerer, 70 of Russell, Kansas and formerly of Hays died Monday, October 15, 2007 at his home. Lloyd was born March 24, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Lloyd A. Sr. and Olive (Cramer) Frerer. Lloyd grew up in the Troy, New York, area as a young man. After graduating from high school, he moved to California. While in California, he attended the University of California and received his Bachelors Degree in Theater Arts. Later he moved to Iowa and attended the University of Iowa and received his PhD. In the early 1970’s Lloyd accepted a position as a college professor at Ft. Hays State University and taught Theater Arts for over 30 years until he retired in 2002. He was a member of the American Legion #99 and enjoyed collecting, golf, Community Theater and attending auctions. His surviving family includes his daughters Aloma Frerer and Laura Schmidt both of New York, Heidi Guthe of California, Sierra Frerer of North Carolina; one son Lloyd Ostrander of Louisiana; one sister O. Joyce Connelly and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial reception to celebrate and honor Lloyd’s life will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday evening, October 25, 2007 at the Roof Tops on 1200 Main, Hays, Kansas. Cremation has preceded the funeral services and no visitation is scheduled at the mortuary. A memorial has been established and may be sent to the Ft.
