Barbara Jean Peffer

QUEENSBURY Barbara Jean (Pitaniello) Peffer fell asleep in the arms of the Lord unexpectedly on January 4, 2003. She was 63 years young. Mrs. Peffer was born in Troy, N.Y. on September 8, 1939. She attended PS14 in Troy and graduated with honors. On October 3, 1959, she married John Peffer. Mrs. Peffer enjoyed quilting, painting, art and charitable work. However, her greatest joy was her family. She always put other ahead of herself by sharing a helping hand or a bright smile. Mrs. Peffer will always be remembered as the kindest person anyone could ever have had the pleasure of meeting. She was truly an angel on earth. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, John Peffer of Queensbury; her son, Mark Peffer of Clifton Park; and her daughter and son-in-law Johnna and Greg Joly and his children, Brett and Kyle Joly of Glens Falls. Other survivors include her mother, Carmela Pitaniello of Troy; sisters, Joanna Morrison and her husband Charles Morrison of West Sand Lake and Angie Fleming and her husband Frank Fleming of Averill Park; brothers, Frank Pitaniello of Wilmington, N.C. and Lou Pitaniello and his wife Angie Pitaniello of Clifton Park; several nieces and nephews and many other loving relatives. Friends may call on the family on Friday, January 10, 2003 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Radloff Funeral Home, 136 Warren St., Glens Falls. The Trisagion Prayers of Mercy for the Departed will be celebrated by Arch Priest Stephen Rhudy at the funeral home. The funeral service will be celebrated at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 55 Main St., South Glens Falls, N.Y. at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2003. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Troy, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 55 Main St., South Glens Falls, NY 12803 for the development of the church's youth projects.
