Linda Davenport Geren, THS '63

HALFMOON — Linda C. Geren, 65, of Hayner Road, died on Friday, Oct. 2, 2009, at St. Peter’s Hospice Inn.  She was born on August 1, 1944, in Corinth and was the daughter of the late Leon and Genevieve Way Davenport.  She was a graduate of Troy High School and had retired as an LPN from CHP in Niskayuna.  She was a member of the Ladies Auxillary VFW Post 1019 in Albany and was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Crescent. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, genealogy and was an accomplished artist.  She was the beloved wife of Timothy J. Geren; devoted mother of Timothy J. (Paula) Geren Jr. of Troy, Kelly (Dale) Akin of Johnsonville ,and the late Lisa Marie (Peter) Fish; sister of Allen and Raymond Davenport of Troy and Joyce Wilkinson of Johnsonville; cherished grandmother of Zhenelle Falk, Michelle Fish, Michael Fish, Timothy Geren, III, Joshua and Justin Geren and Dennis Akin; also survived by several other brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.  Funeral will be held Monday morning at 8:15 from the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Route 9 in Clifton Park, thence to St. Mary’s Church in Crescent where at 9: a.m. the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.  Calling hours will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.  Interment will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211.
