I didn't know anyone checked out this message forum, but if you do: it is now February 2011!  Do I have your current e-mail address?  Make sure I do, or you will be unlikely to hear about anything the class does.  You never know, maybe someone will organize something.  Maybe it will be you!  You can write to me through this web-site.  Go to classmate profiles and click on my name, or get brave and join FaceBook.  I'm listed as Linda Chesman Byard and I like having THS class mates as friends.  Or there is always LindaByard at gmail dot com.

Mrs. Errara, algebra teacher, for many died recently.  I thought she was an excellent teacher.  Although I seldom use algebra these days, if I think clearly at all, I would have to give her some credit for this.  Who remembers, "We come in, we sit down, and we keep our mouths shut."

Here is my contribution to the message forum for 2012: It's early May now and beautiful in upstate New York.  The leaves are already out - not exactly how it was when we were in high school, leaves were probably still a few weeks away.

Many of us are now collecting Social Security but there was a time when we got "allowances" from our parents.

Many of us are on Medicare and we may stand in line for flu shots.  I remember standing in line for a polio shot at Troy High School.  I thought it was very cool to be in the high school even for just a short period of time when I was actually attending School 14.

Occasionally I get a discount for being 65.  When we were kids, we used to pay less to get into the movies if we were younger than 12.  And so it goes....if you chance on this forum, do write, and let us know what is going on in your life.

Make sure I have your e-mail address.  (LindaByard@gmail.com)  In the event that our class does have an event, I'm sure you will want to know about it.  Remember envelopes and stamps and all that?  We don't seem to be using them too much these days.

Be well, give hugs, and eat your veggies.  Linda

Here I am 65 on medicare and social security disability and reading about my classmates. To one classmate I have to say sorry for my past actions and she knows who I am. But in time I have been married 3 times and very happy. I remember the proms we had and the dates after the dance. I remember our classmates who ran for class president. The one that sticks in my mind is Karen in her rocking chair. Going to the movies then I remember taking bus to get my date. Oh yes, Mama's pizza was the best. My favorite place was Charlie's hot dog and his special sauce.

Thanks for reading this

Fellow classmates (class of '64) I am now retired and being very opinionated and with a lot of time now, I am now on Twitter at,  @HRoberish. In my earlier years I wrote many letters-to-editors, laid low for a while while raising 2 daughters but I am back with a vengence via twitter. I am not happy with the direction of the country (I miss the old simplier days of our era) and I make my thoughts known on twitter. My comments are thought-provoking but they are like a Slim-Jim. You are either going to like them or not. Why not give it a try and join the conversation. It is YOUR country's future too!

Here's wishing the Classf '64 a very Happy Holiday (can't say Christmas, it's not PC). Oh hell, Merry Christmas to all! Check me out on twitter as PatriotRob, @HRoberish. I have plenty to say about the direction this country has been headed (in the dumpster).  I don't like it and my tweets reflect that. Check them out, they will get you thinking!.

Hi Dennis,

How about visiting the Northeast in September and come to our class '64 50th reunion?  We are only going to have one of these!  Linda

Hi linda:

would love to visit in September but my health  at this time needs to improve before I can travel.

Just got out of the hospital and need time for my body to get stronger. the weather down here is not helping

because it is very hot which effects my breathing. it just going to take time. last year was our 50th year reuion in june, we had a ball and it was great to see some old faces but young minds. hope you all will have fun  and be safe . that road to the country club is no joke if you had one too many. be safe and have fun say fhello to everyone for me.

Dennis

Hey Sherry, as a longtime OTB playert (35+yrs) I need to correct you that the Haskell is held @ Monmouth Park, New Jersey,  not Mammoth Park even though considering it's a 50TH Reunion, Mammoth (Stone Age) might be more appropriate!  P.S. considering I never left Troy except for a 2 year stint @ Arlington National Cemetery for ceremonial duties, I plan to show up for the Troy High & downtown tour but dressing up to attend a dance is not my cup of tea anymore. I've been retired from Verizon for about 2 years and wear shorts almost 9 months of the year. The only time I have dressed up during my retirement has been for TWO WAKES! We'll see what happens that weekend. Troy is my town and I do get AROUND! Hope to see you all at some point!

Hi Robert, (I still remember you as Bobby)

Of course you're right, (I'll credit auto-correct!)  I'm certain you know much more about tracks and betting than I do!

I look forward to seeing you sometime during the reunion.

                                                                                                     Sherry

The 1964 class reunion on September 19-21, 2014 was awesome!  Thank you Ann, Maryann and everyone else that spent nearly a year putting this fabulous weekend together.  Our class is definitely a class act.  Love seeing everyone.   Mary (Mazzarillo) LaRosa.

Linda Chesman (Byard)

I like what everyone has said about the reunion, especially about us being a "class act."  There is nothing like a good pun to grab my attention.

So many people to thank, and there is always the danger of forgetting someone.  But I think that knowing everyone had a great time is a thank you all by itself.  Thanks from me too.  Everyone take a well-earned rest now!

I will be sending an email out to the class sometime soon.  If you happen to see this, make sure Class Creator is using the email address you want.  I so don't want to lose contact with anyone!

And yes, go ahead and add a response.  Do you have something to add about the reunion?  Or maybe you would like to tell us what is the next big thing going on in your life.

Linda

It was good to see everyone and realize I am not the only one getting older. But the woman in our clas are even more beautiful than they were when we graduated. Thanks to everyone who made our fiftieth such a success. I look forward to seeing you all at our 65th.

Greg

Greg is such a gentleman to compliment the ladies glamour quotient.  I already know why we look even better now than we did "back then":  THOSE HAIRSTYLES IN THE 50's 2 60'S WERE THE PITS!!!

Linda Chesman (Byard)

I like Greg's feel good comment about us being beautiful women.  Thanks.  But we don't have to wait until a 65th reunion to see each other.  We can do something sooner, I hope!

Who said 'you can't go home again?' It was wonderful seeing everyone after so many years. I found myself warmly reminscing about times, places and most importantly people who were so much a part of my life for so long. It was absolutely fabulous turning memories into new memories. As time goes by, however, I find myself uncomfortable with the notion of another 15 years before we do it again. Who wrote 5's and 10's in granite?

Anne Blakeborough (Linendoll)

Our committee will be meeting again this month to review the reunion and possibly plan for the future.  Let us know the time frame you would prefer and we'll add your thoughts to our deliberations.  If you would like to help plan future reunions let us know that also.

I had a wonderful time, it was great seeing everyone.  Thanks to all that worked on the committee you did a great job!!
