English, Patricia Ann ROTTERDAM Stacked in a room in a Rotterdam home, sit Christmas presents wrapped and ready for the holiday season. True to her generous spirit, Patricia Ann English prepared early for this upcoming holiday season, her favorite time of year, and bought the gifts for her friends, family, and a child-ren's charity group, before she passed away at age 66, on September 5, 2012, after a two-year battle with a rare and aggressive form of cancer. She is survived by her parents, John and Ann Conroy of Troy; her three children, Michael, Mark and Laura English; her brother, John "Jack" Conroy, his wife, Theresa, and their sons, Brian and Sean and many dear friends. After she retired from the New York State Thruway Authority, she pursued her passion for travel and enjoyed trips that carried her across the globe. She had a fondness for Cape Cod and regularly vacationed there throughout her life. Patricia will be remembered as a nurturing, loyal person who was always there to take care of others in need and who gave so much to so many. A woman of strength who celebrated life to the fullest, Patricia made the most of her final few months surrounded by family and friends in her home, with the help of the Community Hospice. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2012 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. A memorial Mass will be held on Monday, September 10 at 10 a.m at St. Gabriel's Church, 3040 Hamburg St., Rotterdam. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Buffalo, in Patricia's memory.
