Roberta Seibert (Way)

 

Roberta M. Way, 71, of Flemington, PA passed away on Friday, October 26, 2018 at Susque-View Home Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Roberta, known to most as Bobbie, was born in Troy, New York, to the late Robert and Bertha (Peck) Seibert. She was married for over 40 years to the late John H. Way, retired professor of geology at Lock Haven University. Surviving are her daughter, Mary Way, of Flemington, and her sister, Nancy Seibert, of Camden, Maine.

Bobbie received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in education from the State University of New York at Albany. She taught accounting and a variety of business subjects spanning almost 30 years in both New York and Pennsylvania. Bobbie began her teaching career at her alma mater, Troy High School. Upon moving to PA, she taught at The Harrisburg Area Community College, in Harrisburg, and St. John Neumann Regional Academy, formerly known as Bishop Neumann High School in Williamsport, among other secondary institutions.

Bobbie was dedicated to participating in the local community. Through volunteering and/or serving as a board member or officer, she gave her time, her enthusiastic work ethic and her attention to detail to several area organizations and clubs. These included: The Millbrook Playhouse, American Association of University Women (AAUW), The Mill Hall Sunrise Rotary Club, The Clinton County Historical Society, The Northcentral Pennsylvania Conservancy, The LHU Dames and the former, Keystone Central Network (KCnet).

Bobbie requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Millbrook Playhouse (258 Country Club Ln, Mill Hall, PA 17751), The Mill Hall Sunrise Rotary Club (PO Box 643, Lock Haven, PA 17745), The Clinton County Historical Society (362 Water St, Lock Haven, PA 17745) or to a charity or cause of your choice.
