Connell, Thomas F. IV TROY Thomas F. Connell IV, 67, of Troy passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 after a long illness. The eldest son of the late Thomas and Shirley (Davis) Connell, he spent most of his life on Troy's Eastside and attended Sacred Heart School, LaSalle Institute, graduated from Troy High School, attended Siena College and Burlington Community College. Tom made his career as an investigator with Rensselaer County Social Services, where he was active in the union and was elected president of the CSEA Local 1000 in 1987. Tom enjoyed coaching his children in baseball and was heavily involved with Spring Little League and the South Troy Babe Ruth. He was a member of the Emerald Athletic Club, Knights of Columbus Local #176, and Troy Elks Club. He is survived by his children, Thomas V. of Wynantskill, Mickey (Michel) of Troy, and Kate (Matt) Entwistle of Litchfield, N.Y.; grandchildren, Caroline, Lucas and John Entwistle; brothers and sisters, Patricia (Thomas) Murley, David and Kevin (Colleen) Connell, all of Troy, Colleen (Lawrence) Smith of Syracuse, Tim (Joan) Connell of Wynantskill, Terry Connell of Troy, as well as, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Grace Entwistle. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryce Funeral Home, Inc., 276 Pawling Ave., Troy on Sunday, from 1 - 4 p.m. A memorial service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. James Spenard OSA, pastor of St. Augustine's Church in Lansingburgh , officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Thomas F.
