Obituary
Maria T. Cotch, M.D. Cupertino, CA - Cotch, Maria T., M.D., 66, of Cupertino, CA, and Sonoma, CA, formerly of Troy, NY, departed peacefully Saturday, March 16, 2013, after a brief illness. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Peter Cotch and Tekla (Bomba) Cotch. She was a graduate of Troy High School, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and Union University, Albany Medical College. Dr. Cotch was an orthopedic surgeon who practiced for the majority of her career at Kaiser Medical Center in Santa Clara, CA. She is survived by her brother Peter J. Cotch, J.D. and sister-in-law Maureen T. O'Connor of Andover, MA, her aunt, Marion (Bomba) Gilmore, of Severna Park, MD, her uncle, Harry Bomba, of Troy, NY, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Dr. Cotch was a communicant of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Troy, NY, and St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in Saratoga, CA. A private memorial service will be held at Rancho Deep Cliff, Cupertino, CA. Local arrangements by the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home 336 Third Street, Troy, NY.

About Me
I obtained my undergraduate and medical degrees in a combined pre-medical and medical program at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Albany Medical College. I then moved to California to complete my residency at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Subsequently, I went on to participate in and finish a Research Fellowship in Orthopedics at Rancho Los Amigos Hospital.
I joined the Permanente Medical Group in 1978 and achieved board certification in Orthopedic Surgery in 1981 by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. My general orthopedics practice spans twenty years at Kaiser Santa Clara, with primary focus in hip and knee joint reconstruction and in pediatric orthopedic conditions.
