MAGUR, JAMES TROY - James J. Magur "Jim", 60, entered into eternal life on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Albany Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Nicholas T. Magur and the late Lucy A. Topian DiPofi and loving husband of Theresa Ligato Magur of Troy. A lifelong resident of Troy, Jim was a graduate of Troy High School. Jim worked for the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier in Troy for 40 years. His passion was NASCAR racing and never missed a race. He will be remembered as the whistling mailman with the smart wit. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church, Troy. Survivors in addition to his wife, Terry, include, two sons James J. Magur, Jr. (Amy), Christian Magur, a sister Patricia Magur, a brother John Magur all of Troy, his mother in law Constance Ligato of Brunswick The family would like to express a heartfelt thanks to the many doctors nurses and staff at Albany Medical Center ICU for providing decicated and compassionate care to Jim. Funeral Services will be 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, from the McLoughlin & Mason Funeral Home, corner of 109th St. and Third Avenue, Lansingburgh and at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Victory Church, Troy where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Jim's brother in law Rev. Anthony Ligato. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
