CENTENNIAL, CO-Melinda M. (O'Brien) Whittaker, 53, of Centennial, Colorado (formerly of Troy, NY) went to her eternal rest on January 4, 2003, after a five year battle with cancer, at her residence while under the care of Hospice and immediate family.
Born August 24, 1949, she is survived by her husband Thomas, daughter Rachel (Hanley), son Thomas Jr. and five grandchildren - Kristin, Lauren, Jillian, Camryn and Ryan Hanley, all of Centennial, CO. Also, survived by siblings: Joseph L. O'Brien of Albany, NY, Geraldine Keohan of Rosendale, NY, and Thomas J. O'Brien of Woodborne, NY, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by Father, Troy Police Officer, Thomas J. O'Brien Sr., and Mother, A. Madeline O'Brien (Ryan).
Services and burial by cremation were held in Aurora, CO, on January 8, 2003, with permanent interment planned for Memorial Gardens, Colonie, NY, at a later date.
