John Lionel Garrett

WATERVLIET — John L. Garrett 59 of Watervliet, formerly of Troy, passed into eternal life on Dec 16, 2009.

Born in Troy he was the son of the late Lionel and Angelina Mello Garrett. John graduated from Troy High School in 1968.

He worked for 20 years for CSC and was recently employed at Staples in Latham as a sales person.

John is survived by his sister Linda Garrett Pedersen and her husband Kenneth both of New Mexico. His is also survived by a nephew, Matthew Pedersen of Troy; his aunts and uncle, Kate Garrett of Albany, Eileen Tyeyar, Mary Grassie and Betty and Louis Longo all of Massachusetts. John is also survived by many cousins both in Troy and in Massachusetts.

A memorial services for John will be held on Monday, January 11, 2010, at 7 p.m. at the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, 336 Third St., Troy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m.
