Lori Kern

SCHENECTADY Lori J. Kern, 50, of Schenectady passed into eternal rest peacefully on January 9, 2013. Lori was born in Troy and was the daughter of the late Francis and Honore Nash Kern Sr. Lori is a graduate of Troy High School class of 1980 and Sage Colleges/JCA. Lori worked as a registered nurse for many years throughout the Capital Region. She enjoyed caring for and giving to others; patients and family. She enjoyed hiking, walking and swimming. She especially enjoyed spending time with her niece and nephews, playing catch, cards and board games. Most of all she enjoyed being with family. Lori left us too soon, but we feel blessed to have had her in our lives. She will be greatly missed and greatly remembered. The family would like to thank the many devoted people who assisted and supported Lori over the years. Lori is survived by her brother, Frank R. Kern Jr. of Troy and her sisters, Cheryl Glenn of Clifton Park and Tracey (Owen) McShane of Loudonville. She was the loving aunt to Francis R. Kern III and Evan and Sarah McShane. The funeral service for Lori will be held on Monday morning at 8:45 a.m. at The Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, 336 Third St., Troy and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Michael The Archangel Church, 175 Williams Road, Troy, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the funeral home Sunday from 3-6 p.m. Interment Elmwood Hill Cemetery.

So sad to hear about your passing so long after you were gone. I do remember though your love of Barry Manilow and every time I hear one of his songs I think of you.
