I worked with Lee at American Express. He was on the night shift and I was on the day shift. I usually spoke with him when the shifts turned over from one to the other. I did speak with Lee that evening, but it was nothing of consequence. I was attending a class the next day in Scottsdale and he said he was going out. I don't recall much more than that unfortunately.

I was blessed to work alongside Lee for about two years before his accident. I remember him going through some very difficult times as his dealt with his father's illness and passing. I was very thankful for that time and for the opportunity to get to know Lee on a entirely different level. He was a very dedicated son, and would frequently come into work on little or no sleep, having taken care of his father during the pervious day.

He was a great classmate who turned into a great man. Like I said, he was and continues to be sorely missed.

When I watch professional football today, I often have fond memories of Lee carrying the Dorados, with run after run.

I remember Lee in High School and the summer after. I moved to Tucson the second half of my junior year in HS and became the wrestling manager. He was so kind and welcoming. At all of the tournaments and wrestling meets he treated me with respect and kindness. Even during football and track he was always a friend. I remember going to get a puppy for his mom. His family showed the same act of kindness. When I got the call from Coach Robert DeBerry telling me of his death I was in shock. I have so many memories of him in the short time I was at CDO. Lee was someone that everyone looked up to and he will be terribly missed. I only wish I was closer so that I could have known him more out of high school. I miss you Lee and prayers go out to his family!
