Rod's dad and my dad taught at the same Jr High for many years. Our families were friends. I remember spending a Thanksgiving at the Drakes and that evening playing board games and laughing. It was a fun Thanksgiving. Rod was a really nice guy. My heart goes out to his family.
Rod was in my American Problems class with Mr. Liveratos, and in my P.E. class. Very nice guy. Didn't really know him well, but he showed up at the Udall Park portion of one of the reunions a while back. Probably the 30th or the 35th. Whichever one I last attended. We talked some and he still appeared the same nice guy. Sorry to see so many people vanishing.
So far I have only been able to locate the following from the Social Security Death Index, but I have not been able to locate an obituary. Does anyone know where Rodney was living?
Rod was living in Tucson. He owned a landscaping business for many years. I remember seeing a comment concerning his passing in some meeting minutes -- possibly a company that had hired him to do some work on its property. I wish I could remember more details.
He was my date for Twirp week in our sophormore year. I think he was a Figi with my boy friend, Harry Lodge. So sad. He was a great guy!!!!! That's a good way to put it...we are vanishing.
