Louis Mark Fentnor

 
Mark Fentnor was born in Palo Alto, Calif., 1950, to Dr. Louis Hoyt and Mary Ellen Fentnor.
He lived in Boron, Calif., where his parents worked for the U.S. Borax Co. until 1957. He moved to Tucson, Ariz., when his dad started working for Hughes Aircraft Co.
While in Tucson, Mark began competitive diving at age 11. He was City, County, State and Regional Diving Champion in his age group and open competition. He received national ranking in 1967 by winning the Jr. Olympics. He was also the 2nd alternate for the 1970 Pan American Games. Mark trained under Robert Ford and Olympic Diving Coach Dick Smith. Mark was the first Varsity 4-Year Letterman at Palo Verde H.S. for diving. He received a 4-year Alumni Scholarship at the University of Arizona and was the top diver and 4-year Letterman. Diving was a sport he truly loved and enjoyed.

In 1975, he came to Willcox, where he worked for the City of Willcox as a Cathodic Engineer and Meter-Reader for one and a half years. In 1977, Mark and Ed Farmer teamed up and started a carpet, vinyl and tile installing company and worked together for more than 27 years.

Mark leaves behind his mother, Mary Ellen Fentnor of Tucson; his brother, Jeff (Lisa); two nieces, Kaylee and Landa Fentnor of Scottsdale; a daughter, Kristina Lee Pense of Willcox; wife and best friend, Kathy Norris Killsthunder of Willcox.
