Kristine (Kris) Marie Krugle, 70, of Wichita Falls passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. The family will receive friends between 6 and 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Owens and Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at the funeral home with Pastor John Riggs, officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma. Kristine was born on May 22, 1951 to Calvin and Irene (Wilberger) Walden in Lincoln, Nebraska. Later her family moved to Tucson, Arizona where she grew up and graduated Palo Verde High School. Kristine was the strong bond in her family, her siblings named her “Krissy”. While attending Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff Arizona a friend of hers set her up on a blind date with a young U S Air Force Airman named Lawrence (Larry) Krugle. The couple was later married on May 15, 1970 in Flagstaff, Arizona. After their marriage they both began serving their country as an Air Force family. Soon after their marriage Larry was reassigned to the Republic of Vietnam. Kris then relocated to La Mesa California to reside with Larry’s family where their son Lawrence Krugle Jr. was born. While Larry served a tour in Vietnam, Kristine handled the household and being a new mom. They then shared numerous assignments in Larry’s over twenty year career in the Air Force. One of these assignments brought them to Sheppard AFB Wichita Falls Texas. Kristine began her personal career with the Wichita Falls Independent School District. In her 13 years with the school district she worked her way up from a cafeteria cook position to cafeteria manager and eventually to Food Services Supervisor supervising numerous school cafeterias. When Larry and Kris returned to Sheppard AFB where Larry retired from the Air Force she went to work for the City of Wichita Falls. During her time with the City of Wichita Falls she worked administrative positions in Municipal Court, Personnel ending her career in the Wichita Falls Police Department as a Senior Administrative Clerk. She would then later retire from the Police Department in 2015. Kristine enjoyed creating scrapbooks and greeting cards, sewing, photography. They purchased a motorhome, joined the Mesquiter’s RV Club and enjoyed years of RVing with their fellow club members. She also found time to volunteer for Hospice of Wichita Falls. She cared and loved her family and being the grandma to Hunter and Hannah. Also, she loved her dogs Toby and Lucy. Kristine will be missed by many family and friends. Kristine was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Larry Krugle Sr.; son, Larry Krugle Jr. and wife, Lenora; two grandchildren, Hunter Krugle and Hannah Krugle; mother, Irene Walden; two sisters, Anne Lauren and Kathy Deverna and husband, Hal; brother, John Walden; and numerous other loved family.
