I met Randy the summer after graduation and took over his job at Jim Irish's Chevron station located at Broadway and Kolb. We wrote monthly reminders to customers to come in and get an oil change. My first job. Randy was a pilot, and apparently had been one for a time. I heard he was killed soon after our senior year in a plane crash near Flagstaff. Don't know the details, but I think he was the pilot at the time. Nice guy. His was the first passing of anyone I knew in the Class of 1969. Randy's death always reminded me that we can go at any time. Tragic that his life was cut short so soon.

Randy and I were best friends in HS. Randy did die in an airplane crash in CA and was not the pilot.

Randy had a great mind and sense of humor. I still think of him.
